For our May Photowalk we will be heading to Albert Park/Port Melbourne, with opportunities to photograph the park and gardens at Gasworks Arts Park, and the beaches and neighbourhoods around Port Melbourne. We will also take the opportunity to view Gasworks current outdoor photography exhibition: Bay Windows, featuring 3 MCC photographers.
Gasworks Arts Park is a vibrant arts precinct producing a range of high-quality arts programs, workshops and activities for all ages. Situated in Albert Park, Melbourne, on the site of the former South Melbourne Gas Plant, Gasworks is 3km from the CBD and the precinct houses four hectares of park, theatres, and gallery spaces.
We will finish with early dinner/drinks at a local pub (optional). Note that dinner numbers will be limited due to restaurant capacity – please book your place to join the dinner, as soon as you can, and preferably before 5pm Saturday 1 May, email us: photowalks@melbournecameraclub.org.au
What to bring:
- (optional) Tripod for sunset/long exposures, ND filters, cable/remote trigger release (sunset will be around 5.30pm)
- Warm clothing, as the beach area can be exposed to southerly winds
Options prior to meeting: coffee and cake at Priscilla Jones Café, onsite at Gasworks park
We welcome all photographers – bring along your favourite camera: digital, film, phone, Polaroid etc.
All visitors, friends and members of the Melbourne Camera Club are welcome.
