Vale: Tony Taylor

Tony Taylor was a great Club member, very sociable and friendly to all members. As a photographer he was a very competent black and white darkroom print maker who regularly entered in the Club’s monthly print competitions. There are a few of his images in the Clubs Archive collection (one is pictured in this post).

Members of the Melbourne Camera Club’s Board from that era will remember how well Tony, single handedly, put together our yearly syllabus (Program) for many years.

Tony was responsible for the regular Thursday night ‘Speakers‘ who attended each year without fail. To have photographers and others commit to a booking up to ten months in advance was a great achievement. He consulted widely with other club members to get the best results with invited speakers.

It was only for health reasons that Tony stood down from this task, and at which time Tony was granted Honorary membership to the Melbourne Camera Club, as a recognition of his services to our community.

Tony will be fondly remembered by many of our senior members.
