This Week at MCC
The week ahead is a busy week on the MCC calendar: Monday night is Digital Editing Group: looking at Lightroom – Basic editing workflow; Photoshop – What’s new in Feb 2024; and portrait retouching and Topaz Photo AI.
Tuesday is the Mid-Week Outing into the city to check out the PHOTO 2024 International Festival of Photography. Meet at 10:30am at the NGV café in the Atrium at Federation Square.
Conceptual Group will be meeting on Wednesday night, 7.30pm at the Clubrooms: Once upon a time, there was a photographer who had a story to tell. Instead of using words, our hero decided to use photos – the discussion will be led by Wayne Harridge; and Harry Clarke will be discussing the rapidly changing world of AI.
On Thursday our guest speaker this week is Luis Accui – Luis was born in Santiago, Chile and has worked as a professional photojournalist in Latin America, Australia, Europe, and South East Asia over the last 27 years. In 2000, he received the Nikon Award for Photojournalism, and through his work explored the political turmoil and changes in Indonesia. Read more in What’s On below.
Prior to the guest speaker on Thursday, at 7pm the New Members Group will be hosting a meeting to welcome recent members, which will include a tour of the clubrooms, an outline of the Special Interest Groups, Competitions, Exhibitions and Q&A. Members who joined in the last 12 months, or other members who would like more information about the club are welcome to come along and learn more about making the most of your MCC membership.
