The opening event of the photography exhibition Displaced Ukraine was held at MCC on Saturday afternoon with close to 80 attendees – club members, visitors and invited guests from the Ukraine and Russian communities, with guest speaker Daniel Stefan (Association of Ukrainians of Victoria) and a young Milan read a moving story written by her mother about her experience in Kharkov, in English and Ukrainian. The exhibition is curated by MCC Member Mayya Simonova, to support Ukraine and displaced Ukrainians in Victoria, Australia.
Most of the photo materials were provided by photojournalists and photographers from Ukraine, through whose eyes we will be able to see the criminal war unleashed by Russia against Ukraine.
The exhibition shows the history of past times and today’s tragic days of Ukranian displacement in Victoria, as a result of a full-scale Russian invasion in the images by Ukrainian, Russian and Australian photographers.
All MCC Members and friends are very welcome to visit the exhibition at the MCC Clubrooms, either this Thursday night before the Club Night Speaker, or during the final weekend.
- Final weekend: 26-27 November 2022
