Our speaker this Thursday is Masa Hoss. Her story and artistic prowess are sure to inspire us all as we look forward to an exciting 2025.
Masa Hoss’s journey into the world of art is unique and compelling. She did not set out to find an art practice; instead, it found her. Pausing a flourishing business career to have children, Masa picked up a camera and pondered the intriguing question: “How does one visualize the feeling of a moment?” This inquisitive spirit led her to delve into creative photography, studying with the New York Institute of Photography in 2016. Since then, she has taken on an ever-growing variety of commissions, showcasing her unique blend of creative vision and visual precision.
Masa’s work is influenced by her diverse career as a strategist and her academic background in engineering. This, combined with a passionate thirst for inquiry and an aesthetic awareness gathered from the cultural influences of Iran, New Zealand, Japan, and Australia, makes her work truly distinctive. Her focus on brand, portrait, and art photography, along with her practice of sumi ink painting, has earned her acclaim.
We look forward to you joining us in the clubrooms for Masa’s presentation and to meet her in person on Thursday night 7 November, at 8pm.
