TRIERENBERG Acceptances

The full list of those club members whose work was accepted for the Trierenberg Super Circuit and Special Themes Circuit is now available on the web.

Request for Tripods for Equipment ‘Library’

It would be helpful to have two or three medium weight tripods (with heads) to add to the equipment ‘library’. The type of tripod we need would have to take at least a 3kg load.

A couple of tripods would help in running field and studio workshops. If you have a redundant medium weight tripod, would you be willing to either donate it to the equipment library or to make a long term loan? If so please contact the Darkroom Manager.

Otherwise we will have to purchase them.

What’s On This Week

Monday 17 May at 8pm

The Digital Editing Group will be meeting in the clubrooms to provide members an opportunity to improve their skills with Lightroom or Photoshop.

For those new to Lightroom, and as a follow on from the Lightroom Basics course, we will have a look at ways to speed up your Lightroom installation.

For intermediate users, we will have a look at when it is advantageous to jump out of Lightroom and into Photoshop to finish your edits. This will also include an overview of Photoshop layers.

Finally for experienced photo editors, we will take layers a further step and look at blending modes and blend if functions.

The official opening of the Melbourne Camera Club’s second Nature Exhibition. Those attending in person or via zoom will be treated to a presentation by Scott Portelli, a multi award winning underwater photographer. Following his presentation the exhibition will be opened for viewing.

To ensure we keep within our regulated numbers, if you haven’t already advised of your attendance, can you please respond to mcc-nature@melbournecameraclub.org.au with name and numbers if you are planning to attend the clubrooms for the opening.

News Updates

Emerald Hill Reimagined – Then and Now

As part of the Melbourne Camera Club’s 130th Anniversary, and coinciding with Open House Melbourne, we are putting on an exhibition entitled “Emerald Hill Reimagined – Then and Now”. The idea behind the exhibition is that 30+ photographers from the club will select an photograph from the City of Port Phillip collection dating from approximately 1890 and will “reimagine” that image – whether that be a simple reshoot, a reinterpretation or even an abstract inspired by the original photograph. The exhibition will consist of pairs of photographs – the original and the reimagined image displayed side-by-side.
