Melbourne Camera Club would like to make a club entry in the Vigex international photographic exhibition, held in Geelong.
VIGEX is a word derived from Victoria Geelong Exhibition and is currently the only international photographic exhibition conducted in Victoria under the patronage of Fédération Internationale de l’Art Photographique , Photographic Society of America and Australian Photographic Society Inc.
This year, only prints can be entered and prints will not be returned to the photographer.
Full details of the entry requirements and associated cost can be found on the Vigex website:
For a club entry, we need a minimum of 6 entries. Members can of course enter as individuals, however being part of a club entry gives the opportunity to promote the Melbourne Camera Club to the wider photographic community and demonstrate the strength of the club.
Entry conditions in part require all prints to be registered prior to being sent to the organizers. A sticky label will then be sent to the organizer (Jim O’D), who will then attach the label to the print and arrange for it to be sent to Geelong. Timing is quite tight, because delays in postal delivery must be considered and it would be appreciated if I could have an early expression of commitment and for prints to be ready and registered in 3-4 weeks. Once the labels have been received and attached, delivery to Geelong will be arranged.
The potential for this to become a logistical headache is obvious and it would be appreciated if anyone who is interested could contact Jim O’D by email at: email@example.com and confirm your commitment or with any questions.
