The Melbourne Camera Club Members and Board are saddened to hear of the death of Martin Clancy. Martin was a well-respected and active member of the Club for many years. Additionally, Martin served on the Board as Secretary. Martin and his wife, Jane were initially members of the Essendon Camera Club then subsequently joined Melbourne Camera Club as well.
Martin was a talented photographer, and his lighting skills were exceptional as evidenced by the skill he brought to portraiture working with Jane. Both Martin and Jane were highly successful contributors to the Club’s monthly and end-of year competitions. Martin spoke very highly and was a great supporter of the Club’s Lighting Group and learned and developed much of his exceptional lighting skills in that environment. Martin also assisted with the Club’s Introduction to Photography Course when he was available.
Martin’s funeral service will be on Thursday 18th March at 10.00 am at Le Pine, Mt Alexander Road, Essendon. No flowers please, instead a donation to the Palliative Care Unit of the Royal Melbourne Hospital would be appreciated.
We send our sincere sympathy to Jane, daughters Melissa and Simone and their families on the loss of their loving husband, father and grandfather.
