An Inspiring Evening with Tony Hewitt

In a compelling evening of fine art and storytelling, internationally acclaimed photographer Tony Hewitt spoke to a full house of 85 MCC members and guests on Tuesday 9 September 2025, sharing insights from his journey behind some of his most notable projects: his travel photography, fine art photography, aerial photography work and the sweeping coastal odyssey Girt by Sea – a 31-day circumnavigation capturing Australia’s entire coastline from the air.

Tony also reflected on his collaborations with Christian Fletcher, Les Walkling, and Peter Eastway as part of the ND5 Collective, whose projects include the award-winning Shark Bay – Inscription a partnership among those artists, in which they present aerial photographs of WA’s Shark Bay, revealing its World Heritage landscapes through contemplative and expansive images. Through breathtaking imagery and thoughtful storytelling, Tony offered not just photographs but a deeper perspective and inspiration on fine art photography, environment, and the power of creative partnerships.

The evening left guests inspired by both his artistry and his passion for seeing the world from new vantage points.
