Discover the essence of Melbourne’s vibrant café culture through the lens of the Melbourne Camera Club (MCC) in our exclusive online exhibition, “So Latte.” Immerse yourself in a curated collection that captures the soul of coffee in our city – from the intimate moments of people savoring their coffee, to the intricate processes in roast houses, and the unique ambiances of local cafés. Each photograph tells a story, inviting viewers to explore the rich tapestry of connections, flavors, and traditions that coffee brings to our lives. Experience the warmth, aroma, and beauty of Melbourne’s café scene from wherever you are. Join us at “So Latte,” and let every shot take you closer to the heart of Melbourne’s beloved coffee culture.

1. IMPORTANT DATES

Registration

    • Entries now open!
    • ENTER HERE using the ‘So Latte’ submission portal in the MCC PDI system to upload your images
    • Closing date EXTENDED, now closes: Sunday, 28 April 2024, 11:59 pm
    • Entries are open to all MCC Members
    • All entries must adhere to Melbourne Camera Club policies.

Exhibition Opening Event

    • Thursday, 2 May 2024 at 7:30pm at MCC Clubrooms

Exhibition Dates

    • Friday 3 May – Thursday 31 May 2024
    • Online via the Melbourne Camera Club website

2. ENTRY GUIDELINES

Submission Requirements

    • File Format: JPEG (.jpg) only
    • File Size: Maximum 3.5 MB per image
    • Image Size: Images must have a maximum resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels
    • Each participant is allowed to submit up to 3 photographs
    • Submissions must be original work owned by the entrant

3. GENERAL RULES

Eligibility

    • The exhibition is open to all MCC Members

Intellectual Property Rights

    • By entering the exhibition, participants grant MCC the right to use their submitted photographs for promotional purposes related to the “So Latte” exhibition, including but not limited to online galleries, social media, and future marketing materials, with credit given to the photographer.

Professional Conduct

    • Participants are expected to conduct themselves professionally in their interactions with organisers, and fellow participants.
    • If you are photographing children, you must refer to protocols developed by the Australian Council (australiacouncil.gov.au) before entering your work and adhere to the MCC Ethical Principles of Photography – available on our website.

No Plagiarism

    • All entries must be the original work of the entrant and must not infringe upon the rights of any third party.

Adherence to Theme

    • Submissions must align with the theme of the exhibition. Entries that do not fit the theme will be disqualified.

Indemnification

    • By entering, participants agree to indemnify and hold harmless the exhibition organizers from any claims, damages, losses, and expenses arising out of or in connection with the participation in this exhibition.

Dispute Resolution

    • In the event of a dispute, the decision of the MCC Exhibition Team shall be final and binding.

Amendments to Rules

    • The MCC Exhibition Team reserves the right to amend these rules at any time in response to operational needs or external circumstances. Any amendments will be communicated to participants through the MCC mailing system.
    • By submitting entry/entries to the ‘So Latte’ Digital Online Photographic Exhibition, participants acknowledge and agree to abide by these rules and guidelines. We look forward to seeing your creative interpretations and celebrating the beauty of coffee art together.
