The Grace Lock Group was established in July 2017 and usually meets at 7:30 pm on the second Wednesday of the month at the Clubrooms, with an optional dinner together beforehand.
The group is named after the second female president of the Melbourne Camera Club, who held office in 1974. She was a highly honoured photographer in Australia, receiving an Honorary Fellowship of the Royal Photographic Society.
The discussion group focuses on women photographers, supporting conversations on personal projects (eg. the creation of portfolios or new bodies of work), as well as the work of other women photographers. It explores our visual expression in a like-minded group in a non-competitive way. Participants are encouraged to bring along their idea or images for discussion.
We also enjoy excursions to galleries and photo-walks together.
If there is a particular topic relating to women photographers you would like to see covered at a future meeting, please email gracelockgroup@melbournecameraclub.org.au.
