Shot in the City of Port Phillip (2018)
In 2018, the Melbourne Camera Club were the fortunate recipient of an arts grant supported by the City of Port Phillip through the Cultural Development Fund.
‘Shot in the City of Port Phillip’ became a photography exhibition showcasing the work of the talented and passionate members from the Melbourne Camera Club.
Members took inspiration from what they love about the City of Port Phillip and created unique works conveying the human and geographical diversity of our local municipality, capturing the essence of a time, a place and her people.
The Exhibition Coordinators were thrilled with the response from 37 members, who submitted over 260 images for curation, of which 100 were selected and printed on fine art paper by our generous sponsor Epson Australia.
Councillor David Brand from the City of Port Phillip officially opened our exhibition in our heritage listed building in South Melbourne. David said ‘I am in heaven’ and ‘this is money well spent’ when opening our ‘Shot in the City of Port Phillip’ Photography Exhibition on 18 October 2018.
The exhibition was open to the public in the Melbourne Camera Club Gallery for two weekends in October 2018, where we welcome close to 450 visitors.
The Arts are part of the DNA of Port Phillip and we were exited to creatively represent and promote our vibrant and diverse local city.
