Our September photowalk will be held in Albert Park/Port Melbourne, with opportunities to photograph the park and gardens at Gasworks Arts Park, and the beaches and neighbourhoods around Port Melbourne.

 

Gasworks Arts Park is a vibrant arts precinct producing a range of high-quality arts programs, workshops and activities for all ages. Situated in Albert Park, Melbourne, on the site of the former South Melbourne Gas Plant, Gasworks is 3km from the CBD and the precinct houses four hectares of park, two theatres, three gallery spaces, a café, as well as function and workshop spaces.

 

Melbourne Camera Club is partnering with Gasworks Arts Park and City of Port Phillip in the HousingFirst Annual Art Exhibition – as part of the exhibition, a mobile phone photography workshop will be held at 2pm for HousingFirst participants. Attendees of the Photowalk are welcome to sit-in on the workshop, or the main group will walk around the Gasworks parkland/gardens area. Once the workshop finishes, the HousingFirst and Photowalk groups will walk and photograph around the general neighbourhood and beach area for an hour or so. After the HousingFirst attendees are farewelled, the Photowalk group will continue to Port Melbourne and Princes Pier which will hopefully offer long exposure opportunities and sunset (approx 6pm).

 

We will conclude with drinks/dinner at a local pub after sunset.

 

All visitors, friends and members of the Melbourne Camera Club are welcome.
