Nature Group Outing

Join us for a relaxed Nature Group outing on Sunday 31st May 2026 at Grants Picnic Ground Sherbrooke, set in the heart of the Dandenong Ranges. This time of year is ideal for fungi, so macro enthusiasts should find plenty to work with amongst the forest floor, bring your macro setups, a matt to sit on and and be ready to explore and cross fingers for more rain.
The area is also excellent for bird photography, with species such as the Superb Lyrebirds (fingers crossed for a sighting), Crimson Rosella’s, Eastern Yellow Robins, King Parrots are commonly seen in the area, a Red-Brow treecreeper and Lewins Honeyeater have also been just recently spotted,
Remember to bring
- Sturdy footwear due to potentially damp and uneven terrain
- Chair for lunch
- Water
