Conjuring Athena (working title) is a series of portraits created using the wet plate collodion photographic process for exhibition and publication to commemorate the experiences of Australian Veterans who served in the Women’s Royal Australian Army Corps. The images are created collaboratively; the Veterans have the opportunity to share their stories in their own words and then create a portrait with the photographer. The goal is to preserve a record of the personal histories of these pioneering Veterans and to connect them with contemporary Australian community.
