Print title: Swing Lens Camera and Control Unit
Photo taken with a Nikon F4 and 24mm AIS lens. (1/125 at f8)
FP4 film was processed in Agfa Rodinal at 50:1 dilution for 15 minutes with 1 minute interval agitation.
Printed on Ilford Galerie grade 3 paper using Leica 35mm enlarger.
Paper developed in Ilfospeed Chemistry.

Artists statement
The Swing Lens Camera is based on a 105mm El Nikkor enlarging lens and produces a 4.5x 9 inch negative covering a swept angle of 135 degrees (horizontal). A recent development has been the inclusion of a remote controlled drive unit.

Printmaker: Peter Tredrea
Print title: Paper Negative from Swing Lens Camera
A sheet of Ilfospeed (8×10) paper was exposed in the Swing Lens Camera. The El Nikkor 105mm lens was set to f45 and exposed for 10 minutes (scan time).
The paper was processed in Ilfospeed Chemistry

Artists statement
Since enlarging paper has a very low effective ISO (0.5 approx) the time taken to expose the paper was long. Movements in the trees translated into a blur with only the stationary parts forming a sharp image

Printmaker: Peter Tredrea
Print title: Part Print (2×3 inch) from Swing Lens Camera Negative (4.5×9 inch)
Partial print from Ilford Copy Lith negative. Negative developed in dilute Rodinal (100:1) for 15 minutes, minimal agitation to limit high contrast of film.
Printed on Ilford Galerie grade 3 paper using Agfa 6×9 cm enlarger.
Paper developed in Ilfospeed Chemistry.

Artists statement
The development of a Swing Lens Camera producing a 4.5×9 inch negative presented a printing challenge. A 16×20 inch enlarger is under development but is not giving satisfactory results. As a “stop-gap” solution, the left end of the negative was printed using a 2×3 inch (6×9 cm) Agfa enlarger.
