Tonight, we’re pleased to welcome Greg Thomas, the leader of the MCC Lighting Photography Group. Greg will guide us through the MCC studio, showcasing the equipment available to all club members. As we know, photography is all about light—whether you find it or it finds you, understanding how to work with it is key.

We’re also delighted to welcome MCC member Andrew Greig, whose award-winning portraiture and exceptional studio skills have earned him high praise from judges and peers alike.

Tonight, Andrew aims to inspire aspiring portrait photographers by demonstrating how to achieve professional results using accessible and affordable lighting. He’ll walk us through the practical use of different light sources—strobes, speedlights, and modelling lights—highlighting how each can be used creatively to visualize the outcome before pressing the shutter.
