A reminder about the date change for the April meeting of Portrait Group – the date has moved from Monday 1 April to Wednesday 3 April to avoid the Easter holiday.

Our guest speaker on Thursday this week will be Andrea Esposito, speaking about People Portraits. Andrea is a very experienced Professional Photographer with a demonstrated history of working within professional photographic industry.

Save the date for our April Photowalk – we will be exploring the waterfront area of Williamstown and viewing the Steve McCurry ICONS Exhibition.

VIGEX 2024 International Print Salon

The VIGEX Committee invites all club members to participate in the 2024 International PRINT salon which is now open for entries, closing date 24 June 2024.

VIGEX has been running international salons open to both professional and amateur photographers since 1980. We have been successfully hosting and exhibiting both print and digital photography from around the world.

What’s On

Mid-Week Outing

Tuesday 2 April, 10:30am
State Library Victoria – Rennie Ellis

The MCC’s April mid week outing will be to the State Library of Victoria to see the extraordinary collection of Melbourne photographer Rennie Ellis.

We shall meet in the food hall of Melbourne Central at 10:30 for coffee. If you enter on the corner of Swanston & Latrobe streets, proceed up the escalator to the first level and then straight ahead to the dining hall/food court.

Portrait Group

Wednesday 3 April, 7pm

Please note that Portrait Group in April 2024 has moved from Monday to Wednesday to avoid the Easter holiday!

This is the monthly meeting of the Portrait Group. An excellent chance to practice portrait photography skills, learn about studio lighting and grow your portfolio.

The meeting is a practical photography session. We use flash lighting in a studio setting. We will have 2 sets operating and 2-3 models, so there will be ample opportunity to shoot.

Photo Discussion Group

Monday 8 April, 8pm

The Photo Discussion Group provides a regular forum where you can discuss your passion for photography with like-minded people.

In a friendly, helpful environment, we explore a diverse range of photography topics – what makes competition winning images, creative techniques, how do judges evaluate our work, what tools we use to create the images we love, and how we may progress our skills to a higher level – to name a few.

Whatever your interests – photographic genres, image capture, image processing, printing, EDI, the latest tools, or just looking for tips – you will not be disappointed.
