Weekly MCC News #11 – 09-April-2023

They will talk about their recent learnings in Conceptual Photography. Many thanks to these members for volunteering to share with the rest of the group!

DJI, the world’s leader of drone technology, development and sales, will present their products to club members on Thursday 20 April, and will outline the differences between the various drone models and their capabilities. The presentation will touch on aerial photography and videography. Several captivating videos will be shown on the drones capability in the open field.
 
This will be an entertaining presentation that will appeal to those that are current drone enthusiasts or those considering purchasing a drone, or anyone just interested in photography. A product discount will be offered to those attending in person at the club rooms or tuning in on Zoom.

The Melbourne Camera Club is pleased to be running its third nature exhibition featuring the works of club members and invited guests. The theme for this year’s exhibition is ‘Natural Connections’.

We are inviting all members to be a part of this year’s Nature Photography Exhibition, which will be held 26 May – 4 June 2023.

For this exhibition we are looking for two or three of your images that work together. They may be themed by subject, colour, texture or any other connection.

Images for the purposes of this exhibition, will need to follow the nature definition as determined by Australian Photography Society (APS). Please refer to details on the Terms & Conditions website page. Entrants are encouraged to contact the Exhibition Committee if they need clarification of the nature definition.

Light Years Exhibition
Town Hall Gallery, Hawthorn Arts Centre
19 April 2023 – 3 June 2023

To celebrate its 70th anniversary, the Camberwell Camera Club is showcasing an exhibition of photographic essays by more than 30 of its members. Each essay reflects the photographer’s personal expression of a topic through a series of images. Topics range across a variety of subjects including family, community, urban change, social issues and the environment.

• Gallery Hours: Mon to Fri: 10am-5pm;
  Sat: 12pm-4pm

Plans are well underway for this year’s major event on the VAPS calendar – the Annual Convention, which is being held in Colac this year. Members of all affiliated camera clubs are invited to attend.
