Message from the President on behalf of the Board.
2022 has been a better year for the club as compared to the Covid years of 2020 and 2021, and I hope that 2022 has been a great year for photography for all our members.
With the lifting of Covid restrictions, 2022 has been a great year for the club with membership numbers at 313 members today, the largest I’ve ever know in my time at MCC. There have been some great exhibition activity at the club with 2 exhibitions with external exhibitors – Men with Heart organised by Tasmen and Displaced Ukraine organised by one of our members, Mayya Siminova. This year also saw the Lighting Group, led by new member Erik Sawaya, commence after a hiatus of a couple of years.
As I have been mentioning over the last few months we are still looking for volunteers to assist with some of the activities around the club. If you are interested and happy to be a volunteer please contact our Secretary, Sally Paterson.

Just a reminder to those that joined prior to this year that David Sherwood has sent out your membership renewal notices for 2023 and it will great if you continue your membership.
Additionally as the Government has changed the rules for organisations like us with regard to tax deductible donations, 14 Dec 2022 (tomorrow), is the last opportunity to donate to our club to obtain a tax deductible donation. Donations can be deposited at Bendigo Bank, Account Name: The Melbourne Camera Club – Public Fund, BSB 633-000, A/C# 162 975 023
As 2022 draws to a close, on behalf of the MCC Board, I would like to thank the many club members who have volunteered their time to make this year another successful year for the club.
Furthermore, as this our last Weekly News for 2022, I would like to take this opportunity to wish all our members and friends a Merry Christmas and Safe and Healthy 2023 that brings the Joy of Photography.
