Clubroom Access – Update

Following the announcement from the Victorian Government that the lockdown restrictions have be eased, the Board would like to advise that the MCC Clubrooms are now reopened, including the booking system for Studio and Darkroom users.

Based on the updated Government requirement of 4sqm per person, the upstairs gallery will have a maximum capacity of 32 people and the studio will have a maximum capacity of 22 people – please note that wearing of masks inside the building is according to our policy, which follows Government guidelines – currently masks should be worn at all indoor venues.

In addition, the capacity of the darkroom has been decreased to one person and the capacity of the workroom/annex has been decreased to two people maximum.

Special Interest Group Coordinators are encouraged to hold in-person meetings at the Clubrooms, or via Zoom if preferred.

Emerald Hill Reimagined – Then and Now Exhibition: Opening Event and Roster

MCC Exhibitors and Members are warmly invited to attend the Opening Event at the Melbourne Camera Club on Thursday 5 August at 6.45pm (for 7pm start). The exhibition will be officially opened by Cr Peter Martin on behalf of the City of Port Phillip, as well as hearing from David Helms, a heritage expert who will be speaking about the history of the Emerald Hill area.

RSVP is essential due to COVID limits on numbers and for catering purposes, please register here to attend in person.

If you prefer to join the Opening Event from home via Zoom, the details will be emailed to financial members a couple of days in advance.

We are looking forward to our exhibitors, friends and Members joining us for the Exhibition. If you are unable to attend on opening night, we look forward to welcoming you to the Melbourne Camera Club during the exhibition. Read more

Multi award winning environmental portrait photographer, Craig Wetjen presented at the Melbourne Camera Club on Thursday 1 July 2021. Currently teaching at Swinburne University of Technology Craig has worked for over three decades in the photographic industry.

The Australian Association of Street Photographers Incorporated (AASPI) annual exhibition “Shot in the Heart of Melbourne”, a.k.a. SITHOM, is currently on in the Victorian Artists’ Society galleries.

The 2021 exhibition includes work from MCC members Susan Brunialti, Denise Lawry and Russell Mason, along with past MCC guest speakers Alli Harper, Scott McNaughton, Mario Mirabile  and Adrian Whear
