Clubroom Access – Update

There is no access to the clubrooms and its facilities  until at least Wednesday.

The status of planned club activities will depend on changes to the lockdown rules.

New MCC Policy

The Board has approved a new Gender Equality Policy which will be available on the website soon.

Please familiarise yourself with all MCC policies, this is a condition of membership and they are available on the website 

Emerald Hill Reimagined – Then and Now Exhibition

The Emerald Hill Reimagined – Then and Now Exhibition will be open on Sat / Sun July 24/25 and July 31 & August 1.

This exhibition had been staged on as part of the club’s 130th anniversary celebrations. This exhibition has been put on in association with the City of Port Phillip and supported by an Arts Grant from that organisation. Part of the exhibition will be displayed at the Emerald Hill Heritage Centre in Bank Street. The first weekend also coincides with and is part of the club’s participation in the Open House Melbourne event.

Open House Melbourne

Once again the club is participating in the Open House Melbourne event. We have just been informed that this event is to be 100% virtual again this year. The club will participate by providing the video about the club and the building that we made for last year’s virtual event, and also by providing a fully online version of the “Emerald Hill Reimagined – Then and Now” exhibition.

Digital Editing Group – Monday 19 July at 8pm by Zoom

Our special guest presenter for this month is Adrian Donoghue, a street photographer come digital artist that has been inspired by Jeffrey Smart and others to produce surreal images.

Emerald Hill Reimagined – Then and Now Exhibition Opening

The Mayor of the City of Port Phillip, Louise Crawford, will be opening our Emerald Hill Reimagined – Then and Now exhibition. In addition we will have a guest speaker that will present on the history of the city of Emerald Hill (now South Melbourne). Due to COVID restrictions there will be very limited numbers attending this opening. Please advise as soon as possible if you wish to attend. The opening will also be broadcast on Zoom for those that are unable or prefer not to attend in person.
