Introduction to Introduction to Ballet Photography in the Studio Workshop3

MCC member, Erik Sawaya (www.eriksawaya.com) who is a professional dance photographer, has volunteered his time to teach MCC members on how to setup a studio and photograph a ballet dancer.

Erik is a World Press Photo published professional. He has extensive experience working in dance, music, fashion, acting & lifestyle: At juniors and seniors levels. Erik has photographed artists from leading companies throughout the world including, The Australian Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, Royal Ballet, English National Ballet, Dutch National Ballet and many more. A number of his images have been published commercially.

There will be 3 individual workshops, with 8 participants each, held at MCC club rooms. There will be 2 dance models per workshop. The format for each workshop will encompass Studio Setup. Shootng. Q&A plus Live Review of images.

As there is a high demand for these workshops please register for one workshop only per member at this stage, as we plan on providing this opportunity to at least 24 members. If we have places available in the other workshops we will contact all those interested to register for more than one workshop closer to the date. We will be running more of these workshops the second half of 2021. Bookings will be on a first come first serve basis.

Prerequisites: None

By the end of this course, partcipants will be able to:

Setup a studio with good work practices. Understand lighting concepts. Setup Cameras for studio use. Shoot in a studio using strobes. Manage a model. Capture Dance Movement.

Students to bring:

Camera with hotshoe is essen)al. Access to a lens in the range of 100mm. ±30mm.  Preferable - a tripod to suit their camera.
