An excellent chance to practice portrait photography skills and grow your portfolio. \nThe meeting is a practical photography session. We use flash lighting in a studio setting. We will have 2 sets operating and 2-3 models\, so there will be ample opportunity to shoot. \nOpen to all MCC members (and visitors may attend up to 2 sessions). If you want to shoot\, please bring your camera (with a standard hot shoe on top for the flash trigger) and $10 for a shooters licence. \nPlease come along at 7pm to help set up. We start shooting at 8pm\, and stop when the models say they’ve had enough (typically 2-3 hours). \nPlease remember that after the shoot you are required to send some photos back for the models.

DESCRIPTION:Special exercise – August Zoom meeting\nFor this meeting David Gilliver will be guiding everyone through some camera exercises with on-camera flash to teach some basic flash concepts. DESCRIPTION:Group show and tell (10-15 minutes) where we can show an image or two and talk about how the photographer achieved it using flash or controlling available light. \n\n\n\n\nTonight we will be experimenting with shaping light using modifiers and introducing gobo’s. Multiple light sources. \n\n\n\n\nThis is a practical session so please bring your camera and speedlight and any (small) light modifiers if you have them. This will mostly be an off camera flash session although we can look at some limited shaping done with on camera flash.

DESCRIPTION:Group show and tell (10-15 minutes) where we can show an image or two and talk about how the photographer achieved it using flash or controlling available light. \n\n\n\n\nTonight we take the flash from the camera and use it off camera\, this can be achieved by triggers and receivers\, a PC Sync cable or newer speedlights with optical or radio triggering. This will be a practical session so please bring your camera\, speedlight/s and any off camera trigger/receivers (PC Sync\, Wireless Remote\, etc.) if you have them.
