DESCRIPTION:Our speaker series continues with Ian van der Wolde discussing his personal work and his approach to processing\, in particular his black and white workflow. Ian judged our PDI competition in early October. For those of you who tuned into that presentation\, you will know that he offered insightful comments on all of the images. If you stayed around for his post judging presentation\, you will also know that he has a wonderful portfolio of personal work that is in a totally different realm to his commercial work.\n \nBio:\nAn Accredited Professional Photographer\, Life Member\, Master of Photography IV\, Honorary Fellow and Fellow of the AIPP\, Ian has in recent decades accumulated numerous industry awards and titles. \nIan has been awarded the AIPP Victorian Landscape Photographer of the Year title twice\, 2012 & 2017. DESCRIPTION:Our guest speaker for the October meeting of the Digital Editing Group is Rocco Ancora.\n \nHis subject: Image conception to Realization\n \nBio:\nItalian born and Australian based photographer Rocco Ancora is one of the most prolific and awarded photographers in the wedding and portrait industry. His work is often described as emotive\, dramatic\, romantic and has reached a level of sophistication only possible by his pursuit of excellence over his 25-year career. Rocco has won the AIPP (Australian Institute of Professional Photography) Australian Wedding Photographer of the Year award for an unprecedented four times. He’s one of only three people in the world to achieve Grand Master of the AIPP and WPPI (Wedding and Portrait Photographers International) in the United States; where he is the third most awarded photographer of the organisation. \nZoom meeting details will be emailed to MCC Members in advance of this event. \n  \n

DESCRIPTION:Digital Editing Group: Guest Speaker – Christian Fletcher\nChristian Fletcher has been a professional photographer for 30 years.  He has won many awards including AIPP Landscape photographer of the year in 2011 and the inaugural International Photographer of the year in 2014. Christian Fletcher lives in Dunsborough\, WA.   \nChristian Fletcher has perfected the art of light\, composition\, colour and post processing. He believes that all great landscape images have to have the ‘perfect light’ at their core. He also believes that the use of Photoshop is very important in his work. “I could not get my photos the way they look without Photoshop. It is how I create my art. I don’t use paint on canvas – I smear pixels around on my Wacom Cintiq 24HD Touch. You have to post process your images\, all files need it. The camera will not capture the image perfectly\, it can’t. SUMMARY:Digital Editing Group: Guest Speaker Peter Eastway (Virtual Meeting)
DESCRIPTION:Monday May 18\, 8.00pm Virtual meeting with guest speaker Peter Eastway. \nPeter’s topic is loosely described as “Turning photographs into art”. Peter is well known for “interpreting” the landscape to turn images into pieces of art worthy of hanging on a wall. \nSome of you may be aware that Peter was one of those “trapped” aboard the Greg Mortimer off Uruguay following voyages to Antarctica. This isolation provided plenty of time for image processing. A portfolio of images from those voyages can be found at https://www.petereastway.com/p428017922.   Peter will be demonstrating how he processed some of those images. \nBio: Peter Eastway \nSydney-based photographer Peter Eastway is a Grand Master of Photography and a two time winner of the AIPP Australian Professional Photographer of the Year. Most recently winning Professional Nature Photographer of the Year and tying for Grand Master of the Year in the 2019 APPA’s. Known best for his landscape and travel photography\, he has worked in most areas of the profession and also loves sport\, studio still life\, portraiture and wildlife. \nPeter is the editor and publisher of Better Photography magazine and website\, a position that has given him special access to many of the world’s leading photographers over the past 30 years. His ability to communicate both the technical and aesthetic sides of photography makes him a sought after speaker on the international circuit. \nPeter’s work has been published internationally in photography and travel magazines\, and he was also the author of the Lonely Planet’s Guide to Landscape Photography. His photography has featured on the cover of the Lonely Planet’s guide to Australia\, an Australian postage stamp\, in articles in the Qantas inflight magazine\, and in an Apple television commercial. And he has worked with Phase One researching and promoting its Capture One raw processing software\, and with Adobe on its Lightroom software.
