SUMMARY:Nature Outing
DESCRIPTION:Sanatorium Lake Macedon Ranges \nThe May outing of the nature group will be to the Sanatorium Lake in the Macedon Ranges. We are looking forward to the opportunity to photograph a wide variety of fungi species. There was a successful outing there last year in the cooler months and we decided it was definitely worth further investigation. \nThe different vegetation types will also provide birds and insects\, and the lake has the potential for beautiful reflections. Remember to bring chair and sturdy boots and shoes as the area can be quite muddy. \nWe will meet at 10am at Lions Head Rd\, Sanatorium Lake\, Hesket \n  \n  \nhttps://maps.app.goo.gl/wGy4HiLTDYjZvNKy7

SUMMARY:Special Guest Presenter - "Foto Creative" Louise Sedgman
DESCRIPTION:The Foto Creative \n \nA little about Louise from here website. \nPhotography has been my daily joy and passion for almost 30 years along with my deep love of horses. I crave knowledge and have spent years learning\, evolving and mastering my craft\, and while I continue to do so\, I love nothing more than sharing my knowledge with other photographers learning theirs. \nFor me\, photography is so much more than just taking a photo. It’s about embracing a moment and creating imagery with depth\, feeling and heart. Photography is a never-ending journey that has no bounds\, with opportunities that can change someone’s life. It’s powerful\, not just for the viewer\, but for the image creator as well. \nIf you’ve ever stood quietly in a place and immersed yourself in the sights\, sounds\, smells and visual feast surrounding you\, and spent time capturing that\, you know exactly what I mean. And if you haven’t\, let me take you by the hand and show you…It’s glorious and you’ll never see the world around you the same again. \nMark it in your diary as not to be missed. \n

SUMMARY:Very Special Guest Presenter John Gollings
DESCRIPTION:John Gollings is one of Australia’s most respected and revered photographers. He specialises in photography of the built environment\, including the documentation of both ancient and modern cities around the world.\nJohn Gollings first picked up a camera at the age of nine\, falling in love with the process of photography. He continued snapping\, Nikon F in hand\, throughout his time at the University of Melbourne\, where he formally studied architecture during the 1960s. After graduating with a Masters degree in Architecture\, he decided to pursue his self-taught hobby full‑time\, stepping into the world of advertising and fashion photography. \nFor more than 50 years\, John has combined his interests in photography and architecture to capture the cultural construction of social spaces\, from images of sacred rock art sites and ancient temples to commissioned shots of suburban dream homes and monuments of cultural and corporate architecture. \nThrough a presentation of over 100 slides covering his whole career from high school photographer\, fashion and advertising\, cultural projects and architecture you are in for an inspiring experience you will not want to miss. \nA very special event you will not want to miss.

SUMMARY:Digital Editing Group
DESCRIPTION:As the level of understanding of digital editing techniques varies enormously among members\, we will aim to provide information to members at basic\, intermediate and advanced levels in each meeting. \nThe focus is not on how to capture an image\, but on what can be done with it in post-processing after downloading the images to your computer. Topics such as adjusting exposure and saturation\, compositing\, HDR and special effects will be just some of the areas covered. The digital editing techniques discussed will primarily be applicable to Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop\, however these techniques are generally transferable to many other digital editing programs. \nFor June I thought we would have a look at “The Art of Black and White”. We will look at how you can transform your colour capture into beautiful black and white images using Lightroom\, Photoshop and NIK Silverefex Pro.

SUMMARY:Very Special Guest - Danielle Watson - Extraordinary Landscape Photographer and Educator
DESCRIPTION:From www.daniellewatson.com.au\nSo\, What’s My Story?\nWhere did it all start? Maybe you didn’t ask\, but let’s say you did. \nBelieve it or not\, I began as a professional tennis coach. Yep\, my journey into photography actually began with a break from two decades in sports science and biomechanics—a world of endless travel and 50-week work years. After coaching and running around tennis courts worldwide\, I was ready for something new. \nEnter: a DSLR camera. I figured\, “The best camera takes the best photos… right?” So I picked one up from Michael’s Camera Store in Melbourne and signed up for a free intro course. After the class\, I snapped a few shots of my 8-week-old kelpie pup\, posted them\, and—surprise! —my photos went viral and even landed in the Herald Weekly Times. I thought\, “Maybe this photography gig isn’t so hard!” I was hooked\, enrolling in every course I could find at Michael’s\, and even joined a landscape tour along the Great Ocean Road. That was it. Landscape photography had my full attention.
