DESCRIPTION:This is the monthly meeting of the Portrait Group – first Monday of each month. An excellent chance to practice portrait photography skills\, learn about studio lighting and grow your portfolio. \nThe meeting is a practical photography session. We use flash lighting in a studio setting. We will have 2 sets operating and 2-3 models\, so there will be ample opportunity to shoot. \nOpen to all MCC members (and visitors may attend up to 2 sessions). \nIf you want to shoot\, please bring: \n\nyour camera (with a standard hot shoe on top for the flash trigger)\n$10 for a shooters licence.\n\nPlease come along at 7pm to help set up. We start shooting at 8pm\, and stop when the models say they’ve had enough (typically 2-3 hours). \nPlease remember that after the shoot you are required to send some photos back for the models. Iconic tree canopies will be drenched in colour\, vibrant bursts of light will tumble from the undergrowth and run up trees like fizzing fireworks.\nExplore playful beams of light\, walk through glowing tunnels and linger at waterside reflections. It’s an illuminating winter walk in a unique natural wonderland that you won’t want to miss.\n\nTickets: \n\nImportant: Buy your ticket in advance for the 5.30pm session\, tickets may sell out fast. DESCRIPTION:As the level of understanding of digital editing techniques varies enormously among members\, we will aim to provide information to members at basic\, intermediate and advanced levels in each meeting. \nThe focus is not on how to capture an image\, but on what can be done with it in post-processing after downloading the images to your computer. Topics such as adjusting exposure and saturation\, compositing\, HDR and special effects will be just some of the areas covered. The digital editing techniques discussed will primarily be applicable to Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop\, however these techniques are generally transferable to many other digital editing programs. \n“Silent Vigil: Two Men’s Final Stand” \nWe digress a little tonight as Robin\, in my absence would like to share the story of two men whose lives connected through their deepest passions in a revered environment. It’s a unique love story\, not between them as individuals—they didn’t know each other—but between their spirits now at peace. \nThrough two powerful videos\, witness Mother Nature in her grandest and harshest forms—showcasing power\, destruction\, and unexpected beauty. As you watch\, understand the profound journey of these two men\, whose role was simply to observe and record history. \nAs we return to our usual Digital Editing format Gary has hand picked 2 sensational tutorials for us to dissect. \nMatt Kloskowski will walk us through an amazing edit process in Lightroom \nThen F-Stoppers will take us to beautiful Lake Wakatipu and show us how focus stacking can take the cliché to the unique.

DESCRIPTION:Harriet is a working photographer specialising in the areas of portraiture and documentary.  \nShe focuses on capturing daily life which has an emphasis on the celebration of women. Living and working across Australia\, the UK and Asia\, Harriet’s passion for photography is created through her want and need to connect with people and hear their stories. Across her work\, Harriet aims to show that through our own unique experiences there are genuine threads that connect us all. \nSince completing her photographic studies at Leeds College of Art and Design in the UK\, Harriet has spent twelve years fostering community engagement through photography\, while living in Melbourne. Harriet is a Co-Creative Director behind Photo Collective who run Australian Photography Awards\, Stories and the former Fox Darkroom and Gallery. Through these initiatives Harriet has worked to create inclusive and diverse communities through award recognition\, education programs and community events. \nDon’t miss this opportunity to meet Harriet Claire and be inspired.

SUMMARY:Portrait Group
DESCRIPTION:This is the monthly meeting of the Portrait Group – first Monday of each month. An excellent chance to practice portrait photography skills\, learn about studio lighting and grow your portfolio. \nThe meeting is a practical photography session. We use flash lighting in a studio setting. We will have 2 sets operating and 2-3 models\, so there will be ample opportunity to shoot. \nOpen to all MCC members (and visitors may attend up to 2 sessions). \nIf you want to shoot\, please bring: \n\nyour camera (with a standard hot shoe on top for the flash trigger)\n$10 for a shooters licence.\n\nPlease come along at 7pm to help set up. We start shooting at 8pm\, and stop when the models say they’ve had enough (typically 2-3 hours). \nPlease remember that after the shoot you are required to send some photos back for the models.
