DESCRIPTION:Our guest speaker this week is Luis Accui \nLuis was born in Santiago\, Chile and has worked as a professional 
photojournalist in Latin America\, Australia\, Europe\, and South East Asia over 
the last 27 years. In 2000\, he received the Nikon Award for Photojournalism\, 
and through his work explored the political turmoil and changes in 
Indonesia. \nFormerly Photographer/Senior Sub-editor for the Reuters Global 
Pictures Desk in Singapore\, managing and shooting breaking news across Asia.
Photographic documentary work includes Afghanistan\, Cambodia\, Bangladesh\, 
Sri Lanka\, Sarajevo. A grant assisted documentation of Mayan culture in Central 
America in 1994\, and images of Guatemala were exhibited in Copenhagen at the 
United Nations Summit for Social Development. He now operates as a full time 
freelance photographer based in Melbourne.  \nDont miss this opportunity.

DESCRIPTION:Please note that Portrait Group in April 2024 has moved from Monday to Wednesday to avoid the Easter holiday! \nThis is the monthly meeting of the Portrait Group – first Monday of each month. An excellent chance to practice portrait photography skills\, learn about studio lighting and grow your portfolio. \nThe meeting is a practical photography session. We use flash lighting in a studio setting. We will have 2 sets operating and 2-3 models\, so there will be ample opportunity to shoot. \nOpen to all MCC members (and visitors may attend up to 2 sessions). \nIf you want to shoot\, please bring: \n\nyour camera (with a standard hot shoe on top for the flash trigger)\n$10 for a shooters licence.\n\nPlease come along at 7pm to help set up. We start shooting at 8pm\, and stop when the models say they’ve had enough (typically 2-3 hours). \nPlease remember that after the shoot you are required to send some photos back for the models. DESCRIPTION:As the level of understanding of digital editing techniques varies enormously among members\, we will aim to provide information to members at basic\, intermediate and advanced levels in each meeting. \nThe focus is not on how to capture an image\, but on what can be done with it in post-processing after downloading the images to your computer. Topics such as adjusting exposure and saturation\, compositing\, HDR and special effects will be just some of the areas covered. The digital editing techniques discussed will primarily be applicable to Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop\, however these techniques are generally transferable to many other digital editing programs. \nThis month we will look at: \nLrC – some things you may not know about. \nRaw processing in LrC and ACR – colour grading and lens blur. \nPs – Things not to do and perspective adjustments using generative fill. \nStart to finish edits.

SUMMARY:Portrait Group
DESCRIPTION:This is the monthly meeting of the Portrait Group – first Monday of each month. An excellent chance to practice portrait photography skills\, learn about studio lighting and grow your portfolio. \nThe meeting is a practical photography session. We use flash lighting in a studio setting. We will have 2 sets operating and 2-3 models\, so there will be ample opportunity to shoot. \nOpen to all MCC members (and visitors may attend up to 2 sessions). \nIf you want to shoot\, please bring: \n\nyour camera (with a standard hot shoe on top for the flash trigger)\n$10 for a shooters licence.\n\nPlease come along at 7pm to help set up. We start shooting at 8pm\, and stop when the models say they’ve had enough (typically 2-3 hours). \nPlease remember that after the shoot you are required to send some photos back for the models.
