DESCRIPTION:For our May Photowalk we will be heading to Albert Park/Port Melbourne\, with opportunities to photograph the park and gardens at Gasworks Arts Park\, and the beaches and neighbourhoods around Port Melbourne. We will also take the opportunity to view Gasworks current outdoor photography exhibition: Bay Windows\, featuring 3 MCC photographers.\n \nGasworks Arts Park is a vibrant arts precinct producing a range of high-quality arts programs\, workshops and activities for all ages. Situated in Albert Park\, Melbourne\, on the site of the former South Melbourne Gas Plant\, Gasworks is 3km from the CBD and the precinct houses four hectares of park\, theatres\, and gallery spaces. \nWe will finish with early dinner/drinks at a local pub (optional). DESCRIPTION:For October\, our guest speaker will be Sandra Dann. Sandra was recently one of our competition judges in August and provided many insightful comments. \nSandra will be talking about colour theory\, and how to use the tools in Photoshop to implement colour theory in your images. \n  \nDigital Editing group meets on the Third Monday of the month from February to November.  The aim of the group is to help the members of the group to improve our ability to edit images digitally regardless of the end requirement – be it for Print Comp\, PDI Comp\, AV\, slideshows\, books or any other use. \nMost meetings with be broken into topics suitable for beginners\, intermediate or advanced users. \nThere is a range of software available but our focus will be on Adobe Lightroom Classic and Photoshop. \nWe also happy to look at processing issues you might have – email your image to digital.editing@melbournecameraclub.org.au a few days before an upcoming meeting. \n

DESCRIPTION:We are pleased to have Scott Portelli to open the Melbourne Camera Club’s second Nature Photography Exhibition which will be open to the public the following two weekends. \nScott Portelli is an international award winning wildlife\, nature and underwater photographer and film maker. A member of the Australian Institute of Professional Photography (AIPP) and Accredited Professional Video Producer (APVP)\, he is regarded as a leading professional in his field. Scott has spent thousands of hours in remote locations across the globe filming and photographing wildlife\, the underwater environment\, and wild places with a focus on conservation and education. \nHe was awarded at the prestigious BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year in London in 2016 and announced National winner of the Sony World Photography awards 2016 and winner at Travel Photographer of the Year 2015. More recently he was awarded winner in the Animal Behaviour Category at the Australian Geographic Nature Photographer of the Year ANZANG 2017 and again in 2019. Awarded at the Sienna International Photography Awards 2017 and again in 2019 and Winner in the Underwater Category of the Asferico International Nature Photography awards 2018. DESCRIPTION:The Melbourne Camera Club is holding its second Nature Photography Exhibition\, opening on 22 May 2021. The Exhibition will feature a selection of exciting works from Club members and from invited\, guest nature photographers. \nFollowing the Australian Photographic Societies guidelines for nature photography\, images for the exhibition will cover all branches of natural history\, except anthropology and archaeology\, including animals\, birds\, invertebrates\, marine and fresh water species\, botany and natural landscapes. The Melbourne Camera Club is also introducing this year a section called ‘Interpretations of Nature’. \nThe Exhibition Coordinators invite members\, exhibitors and visitors to join us at the opening event on Thursday 20 May 2021 at 8pm at the Clubrooms. \nThe exhibition will be open to the public for two weekends\, 10am to 4pm: \n\nSaturday\, 22 May\, Sunday 23 May 2021\nSaturday 29 May\, Sunday 30 May 2021
