DESCRIPTION:As the level of understanding of digital editing techniques varies enormously among members\, we will aim to provide information to members at basic\, intermediate and advanced levels in each meeting. \nThe focus is not on how to capture an image\, but on what can be done with it in post-processing after downloading the images to your computer. Topics such as adjusting exposure and saturation\, compositing\, HDR and special effects will be just some of the areas covered. The digital editing techniques discussed will primarily be applicable to Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop\, however these techniques are generally transferable to many other digital editing programs. \nThis month we will be looking at masking – the all important tool for local adjustments. This will lead into a discussion about editing workflow. Finally we will look at a few photoshop hacks to help your processing.

Brian will also be referring to smart phones and some of his photos taken using the iPhone 12 taken on one of his self-funded visits to India looking at some of his Rotary water and sanitation projects they have partnered with local Rotary clubs and explain some positive aspects of life in India as opposed to uninformed view that India is “full of beggars in the streets”. DESCRIPTION:This is the monthly meeting of the Portrait Group – first Monday of each month. An excellent chance to practice portrait photography skills\, learn about studio lighting and grow your portfolio. \nThe meeting is a practical photography session. We use flash lighting in a studio setting. We will have 2 sets operating and 2-3 models\, so there will be ample opportunity to shoot. \nOpen to all MCC members (and visitors may attend up to 2 sessions). \nIf you want to shoot\, please bring: \n\nyour camera (with a standard hot shoe on top for the flash trigger)\n$10 for a shooters licence.\n\nPlease come along at 7pm to help set up. We start shooting at 8pm\, and stop when the models say they’ve had enough (typically 2-3 hours). \nPlease remember that after the shoot you are required to send some photos back for the models.
