SUMMARY:Portrait Group Outdoor Shoot
DESCRIPTION:For the last Portrait Group meeting of the year we will (weather permitting) have an outdoor shoot making use of natural light (while it is about) and portable flash (after the Sun goes down). \nWe will have a number of models (we invite all the models who have been at Portrait Group this year\, but won’t know until shortly before the day how many will come along). \nAn excellent chance to practice portrait photography skills and grow your portfolio\, the meeting is a practical photography session.so there will be ample opportunity to shoot. \nOpen to all MCC members (and visitors may attend up to 2 sessions). \nIf you want to shoot\, please bring: \n\nyour camera (with a standard hot shoe on top for the flash trigger)\n$10 for a shooters licence.\n\nNote that we will meet at 6pm to get more use of natural light. Venue will be determined closer to the date\, and will be published here and on the Portrait Group mailing list (make sure you join by going to https://melbournecameraclub.org.au/member-profile-page/ and ticking the Portrait Group box). \nPlease remember that after the shoot you are required to send some photos back for the models. SUMMARY:Digital Editing Group
DESCRIPTION:As the level of understanding of digital editing techniques varies enormously among members\, we will aim to provide information to members at basic\, intermediate and advanced levels in each meeting. \nThe focus is not on how to capture an image\, but on what can be done with it in post-processing after downloading the images to your computer. Topics such as adjusting exposure and saturation\, compositing\, HDR and special effects will be just some of the areas covered. The digital editing techniques discussed will primarily be applicable to Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop\, however these techniques are generally transferable to many other digital editing programs. \nFor the first meeting of 2025\, we are going back to basics of Lightroom and Photoshop. For Lightroom\, we will look at some of the most fundamental adjustments – white balance\, exposure\, sharpening and more. In Photoshop\, we will examine some settings and the most fundamental feature of Photoshop – layers and masks which will keep our process non-destructive.
