DESCRIPTION:Tom’s passion has always been photographing the breathtaking Australian landscape. As a kid Tom loved looking through books on Australia’s National Parks. \nIn 1997\, He did his first serious landscape shoot\, walking the Overland Track in Tasmania. Inspired by the likes of Ken Duncan and Peter Lik\, he pursued his landscape photography at every opportunity. Borrowing then eventually buying his own panoramic film camera\, \n“I was obsessed with capturing the beauty of the Australia landscape in the best way possible. The large 6x17cms produced far superior prints to the 35mm counterpart. \nIn 2009 I published my first landscape books on Cradle Mountain\, The Milford Track and the Routeburn Tracks in New Zealand. \nIn 2018\, I fulfilled my dream of having my own gallery\, opening in Main Street\, Mornington\, Victoria. \nFor the past 25 years\, I’ve had the privilege to call the Australian wilderness my office. For me\, there’s nothing more exhilarating than being surrounded by this serenity. Whether it be standing on top of a mountain\, or wandering along an ancient dry creek bed\, my heart and soul always feels at home amongst these landscapes. \nTom will be opening our EOY Exhibition. \nDont miss this special night .

DESCRIPTION:x \nWe’re finishing off the year with a birding outing to the Werribee Treatment Plant. This trip was originally scheduled back in February but had to be cancelled due to a total fire ban\, so we’re excited to finally return and make it our final outing for 2025. \nThe Werribee Treatment Plant is one of Victoria’s premier birding locations\, home to an incredible diversity of species. It is especially renowned in summer\, when migratory shorebirds arrive from the northern hemisphere after their long journey south. These birds join a rich variety of resident waterfowl\, raptors\, and grassland species\, making it a top destination for bird photography and observation. \nBring your binoculars\, telephoto lenses\, lunch\, water\, sturdy shoes and a chair. DESCRIPTION:DUE TO THE WEATHER THE OUTDOOR SHOOT HAS BEEN MOVED BACK TO THE MELBOURNE CAMERA CLUB BUILDING! \nFor the last Portrait Group meeting of the year we will (weather permitting) have an outdoor shoot making use of natural light (while it is about) and portable flash (after the Sun goes down). \nWe will have a number of models (we invite all the models who have been at Portrait Group this year\, but won’t know until shortly before the day how many will come along). \nAn excellent chance to practice portrait photography skills and grow your portfolio\, the meeting is a practical photography session\, so there will be ample opportunity to shoot. \nOpen to all MCC members (and visitors may attend up to 2 sessions). \nIf you want to shoot\, please bring: \n\nyour camera (with a standard hot shoe on top for the flash trigger)\n$10 for a shooters licence.\n\nNote that we will meet at 6pm to get more use of natural light. DESCRIPTION:The workshop will focus on ways in which we can utilise natural ingredients in processing film and paper. Participants will brew up various soups that will partly replace conventional chemicals.
