DESCRIPTION:Our February Photowalk will be held at the Australian Garden at the Royal Botanic Gardens in Cranbourne to capture the vibrant colours\, Australian native plants and hopefully a few birds and insects.  \nDate: Sunday 5 February 2023 \nTime: 11am for 11.15am start \nMeeting point: Visitor Centre at Main Entrance to Australian Garden\, enter via cnr Ballarto Road and Botanic Drive\, Cranbourne. Parking at the Australian Gardens entrance\, off Philip Moors Drive – see map \nLunch: BYO lunch\, chair. The gardens cafe will also be open for food and coffees etc.  \nDuration: 3-4 hours\, including lunch break in the gardens \nDriving time is approx 55 minutes from Melbourne CBD \nThe Australian Garden is an award-winning\, contemporary botanic garden celebrating the beauty and diversity of Australian landscapes and flora and featuring over 100\,000 plants from 1\,900 plant varieties. DESCRIPTION:This is the monthly meeting of the Portrait Group – first Monday of each month. An excellent chance to practice portrait photography skills and grow your portfolio.  \nThe meeting is a practical photography session. We use flash lighting in a studio setting. We will have 2 sets operating and 2-3 models\, so there will be ample opportunity to shoot. \nOpen to all MCC members (and visitors may attend up to 2 sessions). \nIf you want to shoot\, please bring: \n\nyour camera (with a standard hot shoe on top for the flash trigger)\n$10 for a shooters licence.\n\nPlease come along at 7pm to help set up. We start shooting at 8pm\, and stop when the models say they’ve had enough (typically 2-3 hours). \nPlease remember that after the shoot you are required to send some photos back for the models. DESCRIPTION:For the November meeting\, I had hoped to tailor the meeting to address specific issues raised by the members\, or even to edit some of your photos. To date there have been no responses to my email of 24 October so here is what we will be doing: \n\nAdobe have released their latest versions of Lightroom and Photoshop which include some really exciting updates to masking selections using AI. We will have a look at a couple of videos covering these changes.\nDo you shoot portraits and would like to retouch the skin but have looked at Youtube videos of frequency separation and just found that all too hard\, well Scott Kelby has produced a series of videos on simple retouching techniques so we will have a look at some of those. Bring a notepad so you can remember these simple tips.\nFinally we will have a look at start to finish editing. This time instead of a video it will be a live demonstration.\n\n  \n  \nDigital Editing group meets on the Third Monday of the month from February to November.  The aim of the group is to help the members of the group to improve our ability to edit images digitally regardless of the end requirement – be it for Print Comp\, PDI Comp\, AV\, slideshows\, books or any other use. \nMost meetings with be broken into topics suitable for beginners\, intermediate or advanced users. \nThere is a range of software available but our focus will be on Adobe Lightroom Classic and Photoshop. \nWe also happy to look at processing issues you might have – email your image to digital.editing@melbournecameraclub.org.au a few days before an upcoming meeting. \n

SUMMARY:Portrait Group
DESCRIPTION:This is the monthly meeting of the Portrait Group – first Monday of each month. An excellent chance to practice portrait photography skills and grow your portfolio.  \nThe meeting is a practical photography session. We use flash lighting in a studio setting. We will have 2 sets operating and 2-3 models\, so there will be ample opportunity to shoot. \nOpen to all MCC members (and visitors may attend up to 2 sessions). \nIf you want to shoot\, please bring: \n\nyour camera (with a standard hot shoe on top for the flash trigger)\n$10 for a shooters licence.\n\nPlease come along at 7pm to help set up. We start shooting at 8pm\, and stop when the models say they’ve had enough (typically 2-3 hours). \nPlease remember that after the shoot you are required to send some photos back for the models. (See https://melbournecameraclub.org.au/interest-groups/portrait-group/portrait-image-returns/) \nDue to changes in government and MCC COVID-19 policy\, our restrictions are somewhat relaxed\, However\, we strongly recommend wearing a mask\, especially when socialising between taking shots.
