DESCRIPTION:Mid-Week Outing – Tuesday 19th October. \nOur regular get together will again be by zoom – however I think we all agree that these zoom meeting are good fun\, and we are learning so much about our fellow participants thanks to their  varied presentations\, plus some great photography. \nThe meeting will start at 10.30 a.m.\, so make sure that you have your coffee or green tea ready\, plus something special to eat. \nThis meeting\, the presentations are so different – \nBert Hoveling will take us to Norfolk Island for the 2019 Jazz Festival. \nAnnette James will take us cruising Marquesas Islands (that’s in the vicinity of Tahiti for anyone who had to ask\, as I did). \nAnd Norman Blaikie will present on Islamic Architecture in Central Asia. \n(Below are some images from the upcoming presentations) \nAnd we will start with Jim O’Donnell who will continue his informative presentation on how he changes backgrounds for his images using Photoshop. \nA very full program with great variety; and we will ensure that there is plenty of time to chat\, bringing everyone up to date on what’s been happening in our lives. \nLooking forward to seeing you all on Tuesday 19th. \n  \nClick Scheduled and future Mid-Week Outing details

DESCRIPTION:As our vaccination rate climbs and restrictions ease we are able to organise a shoot – but as it not yet clear that we will be able to get in to the club building until mid to late November\, we are organising an outdoor shoot for November. We have discussed this with the Board\, and there will be a number of additional rules to protect both attendees and the club. \nPlease note that the date has been pushed back to 8 November 2021 (the second Monday). \nThe additional rules are: \n\nUnlike other outdoor shoots this one will have Shooters Licences\, at a cost of $10\, please bring a $10 note.\nWe will be limited to 20 shooters.\nAll participants (photographers\, coordinators\, models and hangers on) must have received both COVID-19 vaccination shots.\nAll participants are to check in with the Covid Marshall (DavidP) and show evidence of their double vaccinated status (Service Victoria app\, Medicare app\, digital wallet or official paper certificate).\nAll participants must complete our paper register with name\, phone number\, vaccination status and signature.\nOnce registered you will be issued a sticker to wear on your clothes – this must be visible for the duration of the shoot. No sticker = no shooting.\nAll participants to be masked at all times\, except for models being photographed.\nIf you feel unwell\, you are not to attend. DESCRIPTION:Mid-Month Excursion: Tuesday\, 16th November  \nNow that life is getting to be ‘more normal’ again\, we are resuming our mid-month excursions with our Melbourne friends.  This outing is to the  Springvale Botanical Cemetery. \nThose of you who have visited it will know that it is much more than just a cemetery. It is a beautiful park/botanical garden\, at its best during the spring. Definitely worth a visit. \nWe plan to meet at the Café Vita et Flores at 10.30am.  When entering the garden/cemetery from the Princes Highway you proceed up the Main Drive until you reach the car park on the left. The café is a short walk from there. SUMMARY:Photowalk Community - Ballarat International Foto Biennale
DESCRIPTION:We welcome MCC members back to a final Photowalk for 2021! We will be heading to Ballarat International Foto Biennale for the day – note that the photowalk is being held on Saturday\, and not our regular Sunday outing.\n \nThe Ballarat International Foto Biennale was founded in 2005 and attracts significant International and Australian photographers as one of Australia’s pre-eminent photographic festivals. Held every two years it showcases work from domestic and international artists that is new\, previously unseen in Australia or contextualised afresh; the Open Program fosters the development of new artists. \n \nWe are planning to catch the V/Line train from Southern Cross Station – although for those who wish to drive\, you can meet the main group on arrival at Ballarat Railway Station. We will spend the day checking out some of the photography exhibitions in Ballarat and there will be some photography opportunities around town while walking between the exhibitions.\n \nAll members of the Melbourne Camera Club are welcome to attend. SUMMARY:Portrait Group Studio Shoot
DESCRIPTION:Because we did an outdoor shoot in November\, and because we have not been able to shoot in the studio since July\, we are moving the December Portrait Group meeting back into the club premises. \nThis is the monthly meeting of the Portrait Group – first Monday of each month. An excellent chance to practice portrait photography skills and grow your portfolio. \nThe meeting is a practical photography session. We use flash lighting in a studio setting. We will have 2 sets operating and 2-3 models\, so there will be ample opportunity to shoot. \nOpen to all MCC members (and visitors may attend up to 2 sessions). If you want to shoot\, please bring your camera (with a standard hot shoe on top for the flash trigger) and $10 for a shooters licence. \nPlease come along at 7pm to help set up. We start shooting at 8pm\, and stop when the models say they’ve had enough (typically 2-3 hours). \nPlease remember that after the shoot you are required to send some photos back for the models.
