DESCRIPTION:This month we will meet at the Newport Railway Museum.  Please contact Peter Tredrea for enquiries.\n  \nThe Museum is easy to get to: \nLocated at 26 Champion Rd Newport\, only a few minutes from the Melbourne Road exit of the Westgate Freeway. \nAdmission prices are as follows:\n \n\nAdults: $10\nChildren or concession holders: $5\nChildren under 4 years of age: free of charge\nFamily ticket (2 adults\, 2 children): $25\n\nOpen each Saturday from 12 noon to 5 pm. Pre-booking on their WEB site is available. \nThis is a good location for potentially hot weather. Suggest bringing food and drink\, station facilities are limited.  Also suggest this is tripod territory. New undercover sheds can be on the dull side but good under all weather conditions.

DESCRIPTION:This is the monthly meeting of the Portrait Group – first Monday of each month. An excellent chance to practice portrait photography skills\, learn about studio lighting and grow your portfolio. \nThe meeting is a practical photography session. We use flash lighting in a studio setting. We will have 2 sets operating and 2-3 models\, so there will be ample opportunity to shoot. \nOpen to all MCC members (and visitors may attend up to 2 sessions). \nIf you want to shoot\, please bring: \n\nyour camera (with a standard hot shoe on top for the flash trigger)\n$10 for a shooters licence.\n\nPlease come along at 7pm to help set up. We start shooting at 8pm\, and stop when the models say they’ve had enough (typically 2-3 hours). \nPlease remember that after the shoot you are required to send some photos back for the models. SUMMARY:Digital Editing Group
DESCRIPTION:As the level of understanding of digital editing techniques varies enormously among members\, we will aim to provide information to members at basic\, intermediate and advanced levels in each meeting. \nThe focus is not on how to capture an image\, but on what can be done with it in post-processing after downloading the images to your computer. Topics such as adjusting exposure and saturation\, compositing\, HDR and special effects will be just some of the areas covered. The digital editing techniques discussed will primarily be applicable to Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop\, however these techniques are generally transferable to many other digital editing programs. \nThis month we will be looking at how to refine our images in Lightroom using it’s most powerful tool – masks. \nFor those interested in Photoshop\, we will be going back to basics. This will ideally suit Lightroom users who are overwhelmed by the apparent complexity of Photoshop.

DESCRIPTION:Naarm/Melbourne-based photographer  Jodie Hutchinson_Grillmeier works across commercial portraiture\, theatre photography\, and environmental photojournalism. Jodie began her career working for major Australian networks including ABC\, Channel 9\, Channel 10\, and Channel 7\, on shows such as Neighbours\, Stingers\, Wilfred\, and MasterChef\, before specialising in theatre and rehearsal photography\, performance documentation\, and the creation of promotional imagery for Red Stitch Actors Theatre\, Finucane & Smith\, the Lyric Opera\, and a range of independent theatre companies. \nA graduate of the Master of Fine Art at RMIT University\, Jodie is a photographer with Vets for Compassion\, documenting search and rescue and veterinary care. Her work explores human–animal relationships and responds to the ongoing crisis of species extinction. She is a three-time finalist in the Olive Cotton Portrait Prize (2013\, 2015\, 2025) and a finalist in the Australian Professional Photography Awards (Animal category\, 2021). \n  \nShe is currently developing a major exhibition with Museums Victoria examining loss and extinction in Australian wildlife.
