DESCRIPTION:Mid-Month Excursion: Tuesday\, 16th November  \nNow that life is getting to be ‘more normal’ again\, we are resuming our mid-month excursions with our Melbourne friends.  This outing is to the  Springvale Botanical Cemetery. \nThose of you who have visited it will know that it is much more than just a cemetery. It is a beautiful park/botanical garden\, at its best during the spring. Definitely worth a visit. \nWe plan to meet at the Café Vita et Flores at 10.30am.  When entering the garden/cemetery from the Princes Highway you proceed up the Main Drive until you reach the car park on the left. The café is a short walk from there. DESCRIPTION:As our vaccination rate climbs and restrictions ease we are able to organise a shoot – but as it not yet clear that we will be able to get in to the club building until mid to late November\, we are organising an outdoor shoot for November. We have discussed this with the Board\, and there will be a number of additional rules to protect both attendees and the club. \nPlease note that the date has been pushed back to 8 November 2021 (the second Monday). \nThe additional rules are: \n\nUnlike other outdoor shoots this one will have Shooters Licences\, at a cost of $10\, please bring a $10 note.\nWe will be limited to 20 shooters.\nAll participants (photographers\, coordinators\, models and hangers on) must have received both COVID-19 vaccination shots.\nAll participants are to check in with the Covid Marshall (DavidP) and show evidence of their double vaccinated status (Service Victoria app\, Medicare app\, digital wallet or official paper certificate).\nAll participants must complete our paper register with name\, phone number\, vaccination status and signature.\nOnce registered you will be issued a sticker to wear on your clothes – this must be visible for the duration of the shoot. No sticker = no shooting.\nAll participants to be masked at all times\, except for models being photographed.\nIf you feel unwell\, you are not to attend. Ita will talk about ‘My Natural History Photography’ and cover bird\, animal and landscape images from home as well as the UK\, Canada\, Poland\, Slovakia\, France\, Norway\, Italy\, India and the US. \nIta has been a member of the Malahide Camera Club since 2009 and has gone on to achieve many awards including being named Nature Photographer of the Year by the Irish Photographic Federation. She has also won many international salon awards and has achieved EFIAP/s. Her photos have appeared on the cover and in articles in several nature and photography magazines. \n

Sandra was recently one of our competition judges in August and provided many insightful comments. \nSandra will be talking about colour theory\, and how to use the tools in Photoshop to implement colour theory in your images. \n  \nDigital Editing group meets on the Third Monday of the month from February to November.  The aim of the group is to help the members of the group to improve our ability to edit images digitally regardless of the end requirement – be it for Print Comp\, PDI Comp\, AV\, slideshows\, books or any other use. \nMost meetings with be broken into topics suitable for beginners\, intermediate or advanced users. \nThere is a range of software available but our focus will be on Adobe Lightroom Classic and Photoshop. \nWe also happy to look at processing issues you might have – email your image to digital.editing@melbournecameraclub.org.au a few days before an upcoming meeting. \n
