DESCRIPTION:Melbourne photographer Zo Damage will be discussing her alternative analogue photographic practice. \nDamage will outline her processes in creating various works of art that question the tropes and conventions of what defines a photograph. Damage asserts\, “My practice is located in the landscape of apparatus-based modes of the medium that explore the materiality of photography. I am excited by the idea of pushing constraints held within the frame to challenge the photographic index – and its purpose as a tool for realistic representation. Even more thrilling is that alternative modes of analogue photography allow me to embrace the photograph as an object\, presenting a level of creative freedom and self-expression that\, until recently\, I did not think possible.”
