DESCRIPTION:Special exercise – August Zoom meeting\nFor this meeting David Gilliver will be guiding everyone through some camera exercises with on-camera flash to teach some basic flash concepts. These concepts may be useful for taking portraits in your own home. \nTo participate you will need: \n– digital camera with manual controls for aperture/shutter/ISO/white balance\n– “speedlight” flash (most exercises can be done with popup flash if required)\n– something to take photos of (eg. coffee mug\, bowl of fruit\, stuffed toy\, another person\, store mannequin)\n– a white piece of paper \nIf there is time at the end\, David will demonstrate using a speedlight as an off-camera flash. \nIf you need the Zoom meeting info\, please email portrait@melbournecameraclub.org.au \n  \nPlease Note\nUntil further notice Portrait Group shoots are being replaced with online Zoom Meetings. \nFor meeting details please make sure you are on the Portrait Group mailing list (email portrait@melbournecameraclub.org.au if you are not). \n\n  \nThis is the monthly meeting of the Portrait Group – first Monday of each month. An excellent chance to practice portrait photography skills and grow your portfolio. \nThe meeting is a practical photography session. We use flash lighting in a studio setting. We will have 2 sets operating and 2-3 models\, so there will be ample opportunity to shoot. \nOpen to all MCC members (and visitors may attend up to 2 sessions). If you want to shoot\, please bring your camera (with a standard hot shoe on top for the flash trigger) and $10 for a shooters licence. \nPlease come along at 7pm to help set up. We start shooting at 8pm\, and stop when the models say they’ve had enough (typically 2-3 hours). \nPlease remember that after the shoot you are required to send some photos back for the models.
