SUMMARY:Photowalk Community - Ballarat International Foto Biennale
DESCRIPTION:For our October photowalk\, we will be heading to Ballarat International Foto Biennale for the day. \nThe Ballarat International Foto Biennale was founded in 2005 and attracts significant International and Australian photographers as one of Australia’s pre-eminent photographic festivals. It is a not-for-profit event that immerses the historic town of Ballarat in photographic art. For over 14 years\, the Ballarat International Foto Biennale has enriched the cultural landscape of regional Victoria and become the most significant\, prestigious photographic arts festival in Australia. Held every two years it showcases work from domestic and international artists that is new\, previously unseen in Australia or contextualised afresh; the Open Program fosters the development of new artists.  \nWe are planning to catch the V/Line train from Southern Cross Station – although for those who wish to drive\, you can meet the main group on arrival at Ballarat Railway Station. We will spend the day checking out some of the photography exhibitions in Ballarat\, including MCC Member Melissa Jane Cachia’s exhibition (Ballarat Trades Hall). There will be some photography opportunities around town while walking between the exhibitions.  \nDuring the day we will have various meeting locations\, coffee stops and get together for a late lunch before returning to Melbourne by train. \nAll visitors\, friends and members of the Melbourne Camera Club are welcome to attend. \n  \nDate: Sunday 6 October \nMeeting location: Southern Cross Railway Station \nMeeting point: On the platform for the Ballarat/Wendouree V/Line train \nMeeting time: 9.00am \nTrain departure: 9.16am – Southern Cross  \nTrain arrival: 10.40am – Ballarat  \n*Please ensure your Myki card has sufficient credit for the trip  \n  \nIf you prefer to drive: \nBallarat meeting location: Ballarat Railway Station\, outside the main doors \nBallarat meeting time: 10.45am (train arrives 10.40am) \n  \nReturn train: \nTrain departure: 6.13pm – Ballarat  \nTrain arrival: 7.40pm – Southern Cross \n* Trains return to Melbourne hourly if you wish to return earlier (or later) \n  \n>> IMPORTANT NOTE: Daylight savings begins in the morning of 6 October\, don’t forget to set your alarm!
