Vale Charles Gatt
It is with deep sadness that we let you know that Charles Gatt was killed in a motor vehicle accident on 2 June this year.
Charles was an honorary life member of the Club and was the son of past President Edgar Gatt. Perhaps better known, though, as the son of Edgar’s wife, Queenie Gatt. Charles has personally bestowed the Queenie Gatt Perpertual Trophy for Non-photographic Work to its recipient at the Club’s annual end-of-year Award Night since the award’s inception.
Whilst Charles was not known as a photographer, he was actively involved in the Maltese community in Australia – most notably as the Secretary of the Maltese Historical Association of Australia. Charles is survived by his wife and two children.
