The Analogue “Photography Group’s (APG) 35mm Film Swap Project” was a collaboration between ten analogue photographers who are members of the APG. It was a creative analogue photography experiment that connected these ten photographers and blended their unique perspectives onto a single roll of film.
The ten participants were organised in five pairs where each participant in the pair shot a 24-exposures roll of black and white 35mm film of their choice. They then swapped it with their partner, who loaded that same film into their own camera and exposed that film for a second time. So, each participant shot two rolls of film, one started by them and one shot over their partner’s exposures.
This process resulted in uniquely layered and completely unpredictable compositions as well as more controlled compositions from partners who planned shots in detail.
